BMA Products is the brain child of Bronte Smith who, with his wife Angela and delightful daughters Ruby and Harriet, lives in Toowoomba, Queensland. Bronte's association with RM Williams began when he and a uni mate were looking for part time work to supplement their student income. They landed at RM's farm and initially spoke to an old bloke who was working at a shed with a nail gun and … you guessed it, turned out to be RM himself! For Bronte, this was the beginning of a working relationship, and a friendship which continued for the rest of RM Williams' life. 

 

Bronte still works at the farm, and combines the manufacture of the BMA products with his role as advertising agent for RM's Outback Magazine.

 

Bronte began the process of developing “RM's Own” Leather Dressing at RM Williams' farm at Hodgsonvale. He followed the recipes given by RM, and starting with small quantities (mixed in a dog bowl!), he gradually refined and expanded the process. RM Williams was passionate about the use of natural ingredients in the leather dressing, and Bronte has made this a priority in developing the product.

 

While mixing and using the saddle dressing, Bronte noticed how good it was on his hands, and with some modification developed “Desert Cream” which is an ideal skin protection for outdoor people. “Desert Cream” is made from natural Australian bush ingredients and is specially formulated to protect hands and body from extreme climates. It is a very effective product for badly cracked and dry skin.”
