Born and raised in and around Mt Isa
QLD, in 2011 Ethan Tindale was into his second year at Roxborough Downs
(Manager, John Bryant.) His love of stock work began at fifteen years of
age when work experience in school holidays at Alexandria and Soudan
Stations, NT, turned into full time ringing. Ethan also shares the
common experience of many station workers who spend a period of time in
the mines, (Mt Isa mines in Ethan’s case), and then return to cattle
station work.
Ethan would like to head “Up North” at some point for more horse and
cattle experience, but for the moment he’s happy enjoying the giving
and receiving of plenty of cheek with co-workers, the friendly community
around Boulia, the country of Roxborough, the good cattle, and the
benefit of “learning a fair bit from John and lots of older experienced
people around the area.”
Ethan bought a Kent Saddle in 2010, and saddled up one of the
Percheron cross station horses for a 2011 photo. “The saddle has been
good; I haven’t done a lot of riding, but it’s just great to ride in
yeah.”
